Understanding the Document Tree
The document tree functions similarly to folder structures in operating systems like Windows or Mac. It consists of folders and subfolders, which may contain documents. By selecting (clicking on) a folder in the tree on the left, the contents are displayed on the right in a list of documents. You can expand or collapse folders by clicking the small icon to the left of the folder icon.
The Root Folder
The top folder (root) in the tree is named "Documents."
The document tree will expand horizontally as needed when you open subfolders to ensure the full names of the folders are visible.
Dynamic Folder Tree
If your portal has the dynamic folder tree feature enabled, the following functionalities are also available:
The number of documents contained within the folder and its subfolders is indicated next to the folder tree's name.
Folders containing documents but no subfolders are marked with a small document icon.
An Administrator can configure and attach a tooltip that displays when you hover over a folder name.
Please Note: Information in the dynamic tree is updated every 10 minutes.
